Ever wondered what happens with the waste that can’t be recycled? It is converted from waste into energy to make electricity – enough for nearly 60,000 homes!
Visit the Visitor Centre at the Rail Transfer Loading Station in Knowsley to see how waste we can’t currently recycle is transported by train to an Energy from Waste facility in Teesside.
Visits by community groups for up to 10 people are welcome. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the work bookings for those under the age of 16 aren’t accepted.
